About 200 leading researchers, policy-makers and community leaders attended the Summit for a series of panels and discussions on a variety of topics–policy, built environment, nutrition, physical activity, and marketing—related to Latino childhood obesity.

“The summit went a long way in increasing awareness of the challenge of childhood obesity among Latinos,” said Dr. Amelie Ramirez, director of Salud America! and the Institute for Health Promotion Research at the Health Science Center. “The summit also enhanced knowledge of the work being done to reduce the epidemic and created opportunities for collaboration.”
