“LUPE Members Push Forward Campaign for Public Lighting in Precinct 3 Colonias”

Six colonias received funds from a federal grant for 32 solar powered lights and light posts. Unfortunately, money to install these lights was still needed. After a hearing at the Commissioners Court, where colonia residents spoke, the commission approved the $24,000 needed for installation.
