Latinos now comprise 18.9% of the U.S. population.

This “minority majority” is a dynamic, rising population with heritages from Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, South America, Central America, and many more.

And the wellbeing of this diverse culture of people is the key to the future health of the nation.

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 to Oct. 15), let’s use #SaludTues on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, to explore the diversity of the Latino population and how we can improve Latino health.

We’ll open the floor to your comments, tips, and stories as we explore:

 Latino data

  • Latino diversity
  • Latino disparities
  • Latino health equity

Be sure to use the hashtag #SaludTues to follow the conversation on Twitter in English. Share stories and resources to showcase the rich diversity of Latinos!

#SaludTues is a monthly health equity tweetchat focused on health equity and the Latino population at 12p CT/1p ET on the first Tuesday of each month. #SaludTues is hosted by the @SaludAmerica program at the Institute for Health Promotion Research at UT Health San Antonio.
