The Institute for Integration of Medicine & Science (IIMS) at UT Health San Antonio is announcing its 16th Annual Frontiers of Translational Science Research Day on Monday April 27, 2026.
In celebration, the institute is calling for abstracts for posters from researchers that demonstrate the power of translational science, which is the process of using research to develop interventions.
Translational science aims to improve health and improve disease outcomes.
Abstracts can highlight translational research projects that are complete or ongoing. Selected projects will join a poster session on the day of the event.
Participant Guidelines for Translational Science Research
The deadline for abstract submissions is Monday, April 6, 2026.
If your abstract is selected for the poster session, here are the guidelines to follow:
- Attendees must register and list how they will be participating in this event. If you plan to present a poster at this event, please select Attendee & Poster Presenter.
- Presenters must email a PDF copy of your poster to iims-ctsa@uthscsa.edu by 5 p.m., April 6, 2026. Late posters will not be accepted after the deadline date, no exceptions
- IIMS will cover the cost for printing one 4’x3’ poster. Presenters must select “yes” if they need a poster printed or “no” if the presenter already has a poster and will use it.
- Presenters must use the poster template through the UT Print website (https://uthealthsa.sharepoint.com/IT/Pages/UT-Print.aspx). Customization of the 4’x3’ template is permitted.
- Presenters should plan to arrive no later than 10 a.m. for poster setup and must be near their poster between 10 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
“We anticipate a day highlighting innovative research, meaningful collaboration, and scholarly exchange across our research community,” according to IIMS.

Frontiers of Translational Science Research Day
The poster presentation is scheduled to take place on Frontiers of Translational Science Research Day on Monday, April 27, 2026.
The event will include additional activities including oral presentations and Distinguished Guest Speaker Seminars in Translational Research, featuring David Meltzer, MD, PhD.
