The San Antonio Mayor’s Fitness Council is looking for bright and talented kids who are ready to grow healthy change in their community!

Students in grades 5th-12th are eligible to apply for a chance to become one of the mayor’s own student ambassadors for the 2014-2015 academic school year.

What is a student ambassador? Student ambassadors are leaders who work to improve nutrition and physical activity at their school and/or community.

During 2013-2014, 29 student ambassadors represented the city of San Antonio.

In 2013, one Latina student ambassador, Brianna Reynosa of Edison High School in San Antonio, TX, brought healthy change to her community by encouraging students and families to join her and her principal in a monthly “walk with the principal night.

This year, in addition to the student ambassador program, the city of San Antonio has developed a student wellness club, for any student interested in bringing healthy changes to the community.

To become a student ambassador for the city of San Antonio apply here!

Applications will be accepted through May 2, 2014.
