The Institute for Integration of Medicine & Science (IIMS) at UT Health San Antonio is announcing its 15th Annual Frontiers of Translational Science Research Day on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.  

In celebration, the institute is calling for abstracts for posters from researchers that demonstrate the power of translational science, which is the process of using research to develop interventions. 

Translational science aims to improve health and improve disease outcomes. 

These abstracts can either highlight translational research that has already been completed or ongoing research projects. 

Selected projects will be invited to be part of a poster session on the day of the event.

Participant Guidelines for Translational Science Research 

The deadline for abstract submissions is Wednesday, March 12, 2025. 

If your abstract is selected for the poster session, there are a few guidelines that must be followed:  

• Presenters must register for the event. 

• Presenters (author or coauthor) can only register to present one poster. 

• Presenters are allowed to reuse a poster presented at a previous conference; however, they must notify someone that the poster will be reused. 

• Display boards must adhere to the following dimensions: 6 feet wide by 4 feet tall. Horizontally formatted posters are also allowed granted they fit in the display board space. 

• IIMS will cover the expense of having 4’x3’ posters printed. Those wanting posters printed can choose from the templates at UT Print’s website. 

• Those who wish to have their posters printed must submit a PDF copy to iims-ctsa@uthscsa.edu by 5 p.m., March 26, 2025.

Frontiers of Translational Science Research Day 

The poster presentation is scheduled to take place on Frontiers of Translational Science Research Day on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Holly Auditorium Foyer at UT Health San Antonio, 7703 Floyd Curl Drive.  

The poster session is just one of many events taking place during the day’s festivities.   

The event, which will be held 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., will also consist of oral presentations and lunch followed by a distinguished guest speaker seminar in translational research, and concludes with the poster award presentation.
