A recent evaluation, of schools in seven school districts with joint-use agreements located in the Los Angeles County area, found that two-thirds of children at these locations were participating in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA). The evaluation also found a 16-fold increase in use of facilities at schools that offered activities. Because programming increased recreation at schools, partnerships with organizations such as the YMCA, and Boys and Girls Club, through joint-use agreements are recommended.
