BikeTexas had the opportunity to participate in KidsFest 2007. This event focuses on the five areas of America’s Promise which are: (1) ongoing relationships with caring adults – parents, mentors, tutors, or coaches; (2) safe places with structured activities during non-school hours; (3) healthy start and future; (4) marketable skills through effective education; and (5) opportunities to give back through community services. At this event representatives from BikeTexas were able to distribute information on Safe Routes to School to parents. Over 12,000 students were reached at this event and information was distributed to 500 individuals within the first hour.
