The FTC Agrees to Make Changes to COPPA

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) recently agreed to update the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), to include provisions that would serve to protect the privacy of children, as the use of digital media has become more widespread. Although, COPPA was enacted in 1998, more sophisticated means of tracking users have become available therefore requiring policies to be improved with the changing times.
