How to Draft an Effective Policy on Healthy Food Vending

Vending machines are found everywhere, but many do not over healthy food options for consumers. Latinos students have been shown to buy more food from vending machines than their white peers, according to studies.

Healthy changes are happening to help give people more healthy options in vending machines. Recently in the city of Baltimore, vending machine foods policies have been put in place to require only healthy vending options for a consumer like low-fat, low-calorie and low-sugar snacks and beverages.

The Public Health Law Center has provided a resource that helps advocates for healthier vending options to draft effective policies towards this movement.
