Thanks for visiting the Salud America! website!

Well, the award-winning Salud America! website, we mean!

We’re excited to announce we have won three awards, including two for our website, from the Fall 2018 Digital Health Awards from the Health Information Resource Center, a clearinghouse for consumer health fields that recognizes the world’s best digital health resources:

Salud America! is led by Dr. Amelie G. Ramirez, professor and director of the Institute for Health Promotion Research (IHPR) at UT Health San Antonio.

We have a team of three digital content curators: Amanda Merck, Stacy Cantu, and Pramod Sukumaran.

The team uses Digital Content Curation to raise awareness of the health equity issues that disproportionately burden Latino children and families. We also promote solutions and build people’s capacity to change these issues.

“We want to help people understand Latino health issues, and inspire people to drive community change for health equity for Latino and all kids,” Dr. Ramirez said. “We’re excited by the ongoing stamp of approval for our health equity communication work from groups like the Health Information Resource Center.”

We also recently got some non-digital praise, too.

Our home base, the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, was named a finalist in November 2018 for the Spencer Foreman Award for Outstanding Community Service by the Association of American Medical Colleges.

Salud America! and Dr. Ramirez were featured as part of the School of Medicine’s exemplary clinical and scholarly programs.

Help us continue to raise awareness of Latino health solutions!

It’s about time they stand up for their rights. Even so more than blacks. They are very hard workers.they are committed to their jobs and deserve to be paid more than what they get.
