Dr. Amelie G. Ramirez and Salud America! have won three Spring 2019 Digital Health Awards for promoting community health action!
Digital Health Awards are given each spring and fall to recognize the world’s best digital health resources.
The awards are given by the Health Information Resource Center. The Center is a national clearinghouse for professionals who work in consumer health fields.
The Three Big Awards
- Bronze, Spring 2019 Digital Health Award, Social Media—Twitter, @SaludAmerica Twitter by Salud America!
- Merit, Spring 2019 Digital Health Award, Web-Based Digital Health—Websites, Salud America! Health Website
- Merit, Spring 2019 Digital Health Award, Digital Health Media—Blog Posts, Salud Hero Story: “Minerva Perez Busts Fear, Builds Mental Health Support,” by Stacy Cantu of Salud America!
Dr. Ramirez and Salud America! also won Digital Health Awards in Fall 2018, Spring 2018, and several years before. The program also won Communicator Awards in 2019, 2018, 2017, and 2016.
“We’re excited by this ongoing stamp of approval for our communication work from the Health Information Resource Center,” said Dr. Ramirez, chair of the Department of Population Health Sciences and director of the Institute for Health Promotion Research at UT Health San Antonio.
“Our team puts great effort into bringing to light issues that affect people across the nation.”
