A recent report from a partnership between magazines People en Español, Essence, Fortune, and the web site Great Place to Work selected the top U.S. companies that best meet the needs of multicultural employees, including Latinos. The report also listed which companies listed diversity as one of their top priorities and which offered the best environment for Latino employees in regards to atmosphere, benefits, and communication. The Barriers and Contributions to Breastfeeding in WIC Mothers: A Social Ecological Perspective study used the social ecological model to assess positive and negative factors that influence breastfeeding initiation and duration in Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) participants in New Hampshire. Previous research has shown that Latino mothers have lower breastfeeding initiation and duration rates. New Study: Promoting Healthy Foods In SuperMarkets Increases Healthy Food Purchases



Walking down the grocery store aisle is hard when there are temptations for junk foods and sodas on discount, but what if milk or apples were on sale? A new study was developed to analyze healthy food promotions and how they could possibly impact consumers purchasing power for healthier foods. Researchers developed and analyzed an Eat Right-Live Well campaign placed in supermarkets where healthier foods were promoted through signage, product labeling, in-store taste testings, employee training and nutrition education. The campaign was analyzed through sales data from two supermarkets in low-income neighborhoods in Baltimore across a three year period.
